Design Criteria for Process-Based Restoration of Fluvial Systems

چکیده
Abstract Process-based restoration of fluvial systems removes human constraints on nature to promote ecological recovery. By freeing natural processes, a resilient ecosystem may be restored with minimal corrective intervention. However, there is lack meaningful design criteria allow designers evaluate whether project likely achieve process-based objectives. We describe four project's potential: the expansion process space and connectivity lost because alterations, use intrinsic energy do work restoration, native materials that not overstabilize elements, explicit incorporation time adaptive management into place sites recovery trajectories as opposed attempts “restore” via single Applications include stream infrastructure low-carbon construction. An example presented in California's Sierra Nevada foothills.

15 صفحه اولinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
A Design Process for Process-based Knowledge Management Systems
In order to gain sustainable competitive advantage in todayâs knowledge economy, organizations are looking beyond routine transactional workflow processes to support knowledge-intensive processes. Traditional business process management systems are effective in providing coordination support, but are not geared towards providing relevant knowledge support as well. Also, knowledge management s...
متن کاملConsidering the Soil Effects on Design Process of Performance-Based Plastic Design for Reinforced Concrete Structures
In this research, Performance-Based Plastic Design (PBPD) method has been modified according to the proposed method for considering Soil–Structure Interaction (SSI) effects. In the proposed modified method, based on the existing relationships and in order to maintain the simplicity of the PBPD design method, two important parameters have been modified in the PBPD design method. These two parame...
